Oscar winning and nominated filmmakers walk is the second walk realised as part of the Trail. Do you know who among the famous filmmakers started their career in Łódź? And who returned to this city many times to make it the background for subsequent film stories?

Find out the answer by starting your walk at the Film School on Targowa Street, where many eminent personalities embarked on their film careers, and ending at the former Feature Film Studio on Łąkowa Street, which was the largest film centre in Poland for almost half a century. The filmmakers whose work you will meet on the Oscar Trail include Andrzej Wajda, Roman Polański, Zbigniew Rybczyński, Agnieszka Holland, Allan Starski, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Paweł Pawlikowski and a whole gallery of artists associated with the Łódź Film School and the Feature Film Studio.

You will need about 2 hours to complete the full walk. During this time you will visit the following locations:

  1. Lodz Film School
  2. The Film Museum in Łódź
  3. Cave in Źródliska II Park
  4. Pastor’s Mill district
  5. Scheibler’s spinning  mill
  6. Book Art Museum

  8. Józef Richter Villa
